Accessibility Statement

This site is designed to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. This page explains what has been implemented, what is known to be limited, and how to report a barrier.

Last updated: 4 November 2026

What we have implemented

  • Semantic HTML with one h1 per page and a logical heading order.
  • A "Skip to content" link as the first focusable element.
  • Visible focus outlines on every interactive element.
  • Keyboard-operable navigation, date selectors and FAQ accordions.
  • Form controls with associated labels; the date picker works without JavaScript via a standard form submission.
  • Text alternatives on every image. Portrait alt text follows the pattern "Person name – page topic".
  • Colour contrast of at least 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text and UI boundaries.
  • Layout that reflows at 320 px width without horizontal scrolling.
  • Touch targets of at least 44 × 44 px for primary controls.
  • prefers-reduced-motion disables decorative animation.
  • Live regions on results that update in place, so screen readers announce new content.

Known limitations

  • Long roster lists can be tiring to navigate with a screen reader; use the profession filter or the person's profile page instead.
  • Portrait images are decorative for many visitors but must remain described for context; alt text is therefore repetitive by design.
  • Third-party advertising, if enabled, is outside our direct control. We choose formats that do not autoplay audio or cause layout shift.

Testing

Pages are checked with keyboard-only navigation, browser zoom up to 200%, and automated contrast and landmark checks on every build.
